WAR-TIME AIR SERVICE
AUSTRALIA -TO AMERICA MR CURTIN SEEKING PLANES (Rec. 11.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, Mar. 30. Planes for a limited Australian-con-trolled wartime air service between Australia and the United States will be sought by Mr Curtin during his overseas tour. The existing American service is reported to be unable to cope with all the demands, and Australian officials leaving for overseas on urgent Government business have been held up for as long as six weeks. Mr Curtin will also seek new aircraft to replace the ageing civil machines now operating in Australia.
