By Sentinel A field of 11 remain in. the Winton Juvenile Trotting Stakes, of £250. The safety limit for the Winton track is one over the list of acceptances. The Nightcaps owner-trainer, J. S. Malcolm, has disposed of his lease of the trotter Jimmy Dillon to a patron of R. Berry’s stable. Jimmy Dillon made a big impression when he won at his first two starts at the Gore Trotting Club’s meeting on Boxing Day. The Tasmanian-bred stallion Black Globe has been leaving some promising foals in the south. Two of his stock in Azcre Globe and Rita Globe are recent winners in Tasmania. Owners and trainers in the Mid-Canter-bury district held a series of trials on the Ashburton racecourse on Saturday, with the idea of giving maiden horses and juvenile pacers racing education. More than 40 horses were paraded, and, besides the trials, the majority were given practice at the barrier.
