“BUTTERFLY ROCKET”

NEW GERMAN WEAPON (Rec. 10.15 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 28. The Germans are using a new weapon called the “ butterfly rocket ” against Allied bombers, accox-ding to a Berlin spokesman, says the Stockholm correspondent of the Daily Express. The spokesman said the new weapon, which is fired from fighters, weighs only a few pounds, and had a parachute attachment. The projectiles explode and throw red-hot splinters “ with terrific effect.”

The spokesman added that thousands of butterfly rockets are being showered by German fighters during air battles.
