PALESTINE JEWS

CREATION OF SPECIAL STATE

EGYPT PROTESTS TO AMERICA (Rec. 10.15 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 28. Egypt has officially protested to the United States against statements made to a Senate committee on the advisability of the creation of a Jewish State in Palestine, says the Cairo correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. Iraq has also protested.

Very great importance is attached in the Middle East to the Arab protest in view of the expiry on March 31 of a Palestine White Paper and an expected statement from Britain on Palestine policy. The Egyptian Government, it is understood, is considering the calling of an assembly of all Arab States as a protest against any one-sided settlement of the Palestine issues. The Egyptian Cabinet met at a special session on Sunday night to consider the situation.
