DISGUSTED WITH NAZIS

GERMAN MILITARY ATTACHE ESCAPE TO ALLIED TERRITORY RUGBY, Feb. 9. Erich von Wehmehren, assistant German military attache in Turkey since December, 1942, who disappeared from Ankara several days ago, is now in Allied territory, says the Exchange Telegraph’s Ankara correspondent. Von Wehmehren declared that he was disgusted with Nazi brutality and left with his wife, who is a cousin of the German Ambassador to Turkey, Herr von Papen. British officials in Ankara say the von Wermehrens escaped on account of the Nazi attitude to the Catholic Church, to which they belong.
