MACEDOINE IN WORK AGAIN
(Special) INVERCARGILL, Feb 9. There Is nothing further to report on the negotiations for the sale of Macedoine, no word having yet been received from the agent acting on behalf of an Australian client. The Salmagundi mare did so well during her spell after ft Wellington meeting that thei original intention to give her a good holiday has been dropped, and she has been put into training again. She was out doing slow work this morning, and unless she changes hands she will be kept going with a view to contesting the Great Autumn Handicap at the C.J.C. R clne The application of the Southland Racing Club for March 25 as the date of the patriotic meeting has been referred back +rs fhp olub bv the New Zealand xtacmg Conference” The Walmate Club has been granted a permit to race on March 2J, and as both clubs draw on Otago for horses to make up their fields there would ho n Hashing of dates. The committee of the Southland Club will now consider another suitable date for its patriotic meeting. *
