BRITISH AND GERMAN AIRMEN MEDITERRANEAN INCIDENT (Rec. 9 p.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 6. Two British airmen who baled out in the Mediterranean after helping to break up a German formation attacking an important convoy spent the night tossing about in a rubber boat side by side with three Germans whose plane they had destroyed. They were so close that they talked to one another. The British airmen heard the German leader encouraging his companions, who had slipped out of the boat and were hanging on by a rope. The German pilot, who was 21 years of age, was a veteran fighter with 10 victories to his credit, while the British leader, who was also 21, was on his first operational flight. A British launch rescued the whole party next day.
