CRASH OVER BANK. —Scene of the Air Force motor-van crash in Lower Canongate on Monday evening, in which 13 members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force were involved. The van turned into Canongate from. Rattray street, ran on up the short, steep road, and overturned at the arrow mark at the right of the picture. It somersaulted down hill, just missing a telegraph pole, and landed beside Speight’s Brewery building. The van passed over the head of a man who was walking up the steps, missing him by inches. The occupants of the van had a remarkable escape, and only two now remain in the Hospital of the 13 conveyed there.
