THE SOLDIERS’ WELCOME CLUE

Sir,—Do you think it is right that our local Welcome Club, which is supposed to be for the benefit of servicemen, should be closed for three weeks at the present time? Troops who are travelling to and fro through our locality between Christmas and New Year have had to pay 2s for a meal which they would otherwise have obtained at 9d, and then have to walk the streets until their train departs for their destination. —I am, etc., Dunedin, January 7. Soldier.
