J.C. SUMMER MEETING

THE FIELDS FOR TO-DAY RECENT WINNERS ENGAGED The card for to-day’s racing at Wingatui promises to provide some very interesting sport. The various horses racing should not fail on the score of fitness, as the majority of them have been appearing at the holiday meetings with more or less success, which the handicapper has endeavoured to balance. The star attractions of the day will be the James Hazlett Gold Cup, the Jockey Club Handicap, and the Flying Fortress Handicap. The minor events on the card have attracted very liberal patronage from owners. In fact, some of the fields err on the unwieldy side, and there may be seme big dividends. The following may be among those fancied for their engagements:— 11 a.m.: Owhiro Hurdles.—NightcaJ.m, Heidelberg, Gold Nugget. 11.44: Novice Handicap.—Good Cast, Chestnut Glow, Twelve Pointer. 12.28: Flying Fortress Handicap.—Monetary, Lord Advocate, Sister Sal. 1.12: D.J.C. Handicap. The Raker, Sascha, Bascule. 1.56: Abbotsford Handicap.—Sal’s Pal, Full Chase, Nigger Lad. 2.40: Hopeful Handicap.—Lyndall, Joygiver, Runaway. 3.34: James Hazlett Gold Cup.—Scottish Dale, Aurora Australis, Royal Flight. 4.8: Waihola Handicap.—Abdicate, Gunga Din, Bridgehead.
