TAIERI COUNTY COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Taieri County Council, held yesterday at Moseiel, was attended by Crs J. A. Wither (chairman), J. A. Gow, F. M. Howell, G. Stevenson. W. I. Nichol, C. Findlay, and T. McMillan. M. I. Carr (Abbotsford) wrote asking that the North Taieri road be tar-sealed.— Received. „ , , . . Miss J. W. Watson (Brighton) wrote concerning a drain that flowed on to her property.—Left to the councillor for the riding. Mr J. H. Lewin (Pukerangi) wrote asking that attention be given to a road leading to his property.—lt was agreed to give the necessary attention. The Otago and Southland Counties Association wrote on the subject of representation on the sub-committee to deal wifh the question of an airport for Otago. —lt was decided to support the nomination of Messrs J. B. McGill '(Maniototo) and John Bennetts (Tuapeka). A letter was received from the Outram Town Board drawing attention to the condition of Hoylake street.—To be attended to. A letter was received from the Dunedin City Corporation concerning the widening of Kaikorai Valley road. —It was decided to obtain further particulars. The National • Mortgage and Agency Company wrote drawing attention to the condition of the road to the estate of M. Graham at Hindon.—To be attended to. The Strath-Taieri A. and P. Society asked permission to extend the concrete path througli the gateway to the Show Ground.—Permission was granted.
