PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING The fifty-fourth, annual meeting of the Dunedin Photographic Society was held in the clubrooms on Monday and was well attended. The society has 137 members, 47 of whom are on active service, and also four life members. In spite of the large number of members absent on war service, the financial position is remarkably sound, and in this connection the president, Mr W.. .G. Woolman,- expressed appreciation of the services of the treasurer, Mr D. Y. Erwin, and members who had continued their support throughout the year. Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, Mr J. G. Johnston also remarked on the sound position cf the club. Appreciation was expressed of the work of Mr Gordon Tovey in judging and criticising exhibitions. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr S. H. Rawson; .president, Mr H. G. Wcolman; vicepresidents—Mrs D. Y. Erwin, Messrs G. Chance, J. J. Webster, G. Tovey, and the president of the Otago Art Society; immediate past president, Mr J. G. Johnston; secretary, Miss M. Valentine; treasurer, Mr A. R. Harris; exhibition secretary, Mr C. A. Weedon; editor. Miss E. T. Batham; council—MeSSrs L. J. Blackman, F. W. Craddock, G. Hendry, and R. G. Ratcliff; judge, Mr Gordon Tovey; librarian, Mr C. C. Palmer; auditor, Mr T. D. Barrett. At the conclusion cf business a short lantern showing was given by members who had been experimenting with coloured films, and a number of excellent slides were produced.
