OFFERED TO RESIGN
GENERAL GIRAUD'S POSITION (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 16. General Giraud, after the National Committee's reshuffle last month, offered to resign, but withdrew' the offer yesterday after receiving assurances from the committee that his conditions governing the future relations between the army and the committee would be approved. The Algiers correspondent of the British United Press, reporting this, adds that General Giraud did not expect the committee to remove him from participation in political affairs.
