Mr Mark Silverstone left yesterday morning for Wellington to attend a meeting of the directors of the Reserve Bank. /
Warrant Officer (II) Norman Hamilton, of Dunedin, who was a prisoner of war in Italy, has been transferred to Germany.
Cabled advice has been received by Mr and Mrs M. J. Keogh, of Wakarl, that their son, Sergeant Pilot A. G. Keogh, R.N.Z.A.F., has been granted a commission in England.
Major D. C. Cosgrove, D.A.A.G., Sick and Wounded, Army Headquarters, and Captain R. Borland, officer commanding sick and wounded, Southern Military District, who have been inspecting area headquarters in the Southern Military District. returned north yesterday. Passengers who left for the north by the airliner yesterday were Mrs S. Cousins for Christchurch, Mr L. M. Satterthwaue, Mr W. R. Brown, Mr J. L. Johnston, Mr D. H. Blackie, Mr R. G. Russel], and Flying Officer T. S. Newland for Wellington, Mrs J. T. Williamson for Palmerston North, and Mr and Mrs W. Mackersy for Auckland. Passengers who arrived by the afternoon plane were Mr W. S. Barr, Dr H. Gilmore, Miss A. Miller and Mr W. B. Williamson from Wellington, Mrs J. W. Rainey and Mr D. F. Christie from Christchurch.
