DESTRUCTION OF EELS

The Otago Anglers' Association, in conjunction with the Otago Acclimatisation Society, is organising an eel drive at the Shag River on November 27 and 28. In the following week the society's ranger will be stationed at the river to operate eel traps. It is intended to make the drive an annual event, and the society is commending the scheme to other clubs and anglers, who, it is hoped, will take similar action in other parts of the district.
