DEPORTATION ORDERED
COUNT ALFRED DE MARIGNY SEQUEL TO MURDER CHARGE (Rec. 9.30 p.ifn) NEW YORK, Nov. 15. Acquitting Count Alfred de Marigny on a charge of having murdered his father-in-law, Sir Harry Oakes, the jury recommended that de Marigny be deported from the Bahamas. Following an executive meeting an order has now been issued requesting de Marigny and the Marquis Georges Devisdelour to leave the Bahamas. Devisdelour, who was a witness at the trial, said he was shocked by his inclusion in the deportation order. Both men who, it is reported, will leave within a fortnight, hope to go to Mexico. They are natives of Mauritius.
After publication of the deportation order de Marigny announced that he had obtained permission from the. Catholic Archbishop to remarry his wife _ Nancy this afternoon, but after keeping the priest waiting at the church for over an hour de Marigny was reported to be ill, so that the remarriage was postponed. His wife’s friends indicated later that she was surprised by the wedding plans and wanted more time to consider them. Father Bonaventure described the proposed ceremony as a validation of the marriage rather than a remarriage.
