USE OF DIVE BOMBERS

(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 14. At Yamethin, on Friday, on the line from Rangoon to Mandalay, bombs fell on railway installations, and fires were started across the target. Attacks were also made on Taungup. All the bombs fell in the target area, and again fires were left burning. Fighter-bombers and dive-bombers were active throughout the day against enemy-occupied villages and positions. Most of the objectives were in the Kalemyo region. The target areas were well covered by bomb bursts, and huts were set on fire. Attacks were also made by dive-bombers on enemy positions in the Maungdaw area. A train was attacked by Beaufighters in offensive sweeps along the line south of Mandalay, and Hurricanes by night scored hits on river, craft and enemyoccupied buildings on the Kaladan. None of our aircraft are missing.
