RESTRICTION ON SALES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. I. In a statement to-day the Minister of Supply (Mr D. G. Sullivan) announced the gazetting of a medical supplies notice relating to the sale of bismuth and salts of bismuth. Mr Sullivan said there was an extreme world shortage of bismuth, and restrictions had to be imposed to conserve the existing stocks for essential purposes: In future, the Minister added, the sale of these drugs, or any preparation containing them, would be restricted to wholesale druggists, dentists, veterinary surgeons, pharmacists, and hospital boards. Retail sales would be made on a prescription signed by a doctor or a veterinary surgeon.
