CONFERENCE IN CHUNGKING

LORD LOUIS MOUNTBATTEN

RUGBY, Oct. 22.

Lord Louis Mountbatten, Com-mander-in-Chief, South-east Asia Command, left Chungking after a conference with Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, General Stilwell, and other American and Chinese generals, states an agency message. It is understood that important questions regarding strategy and the coordination of the army, navy, and air forces were discussed at the conference, which lasted five hours and was characterised by great cordiality and harmony. The conference also surveyed Allied resources and operational details for an offensive against the Japanese.
