VICTORY WILL BE WON
NO RELAXATION OF EFFORT MR CHURCHILL’S MESSAGE RUGBY, Oct. 22. “The sternest phases of the war may well lie before us, but we have the right to feel that victory will be won, provided we do not relax our efforts for an instant, whatever form our service may be,’’ Mr Churchill said in a message to the Scottish Unionist Association conference to-day. “Nevertheless, with the prospect of victory before us it is our duty to ensure that we are fully prepared for the transition from war to peace," he said, “for the problems which will confront us will touch upon every aspect of our national life, ana will require the highest qualities of foresight and resolution. The Government is making every preparation, but everyone should be aware of the task that still awaits us when fighting ceases. I am, therefore, glad that you are giving thought to all those matters which will closely affect the social and economic wellbeing of our people.”
