OBITUARY

MR GEORGE WATSON The death occurred on Tuesday night of Mr George Watson, who had been a prominent figure in the motor business in Dunedin for many years. Born in Scotland in 1879, Mr Watson came to New land with his wife and two children in 1902 and worked among the first motor cars in Invercargill. In 1908 he came to Dunedin to join the staff of Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co., where he remained until 1920, when he commenced business with Mr George Maddox in the firm of Maddox and Watson. He played an active part in all matters dealing with the motor trade until failing health compelled his retirement. He was also a member of the Masonic Order. Mr Watson is survived bv his wife and one daughter. His son and elder daughter died some years ago.
