LORD MOUNTBATTEN

ACTIVITIES IN CHINA (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 22. Lord Louis Mountbatten has been in China for five days, two of which were spent at General Chiang Kai-shek’s country bungalow, conferring with the generalissimo, says Reujer’s Chungking correspondent. During the remainder of the time Lord Mountbatten had talks with General J. Stilwcll and the British and Chinese army chiefs. A close friendship sprang up between Lord Mountbatten and General Stilwell, each being pleased that the other favoured hardhitting »trategy.
