PLASTIC SURGERY
PROVISION FOR SERVICEMEN (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 22. A conference between officers of the Health and Army Departments to discuss the question of additional accommodation for patients requiring plastic surgical treatment is to be called by the Minister of Health. Mr A. H. Nordmeyer. The Minister made this announcement to-day after he had visited the Burwood Hospital, where he paid special attention to the plastic surgical unit established for the care and treatment of servicemen.
“It is obvious that the hospital is working under certain disadvantages and every effort will be made to try and overcome these,” said Mr Nordmeyer. “It appears that additional accommodation will be needed to make full provision for all the cases requiring plastic treatment, and an early decision will be made on the question whether this should be provided in Christchurch or elsewhere.”
