NEW GERMAN WEAPON

FOG-SPREADING GRENADE (Rec. 10.40 p.m) LONDON, Sept. 22. A new weapon which the Germans tried out in Russia and used in Sicily was described by a colonel broadcasting on the Berlin radio. It is a special grenade which throws a thick fog over a wide radius, enabling the concealment of troop movements. The fog units are thrown in focal points, and provide support and relief for infantry. They are called “Stukas on foot” because they have the same effect on the enemy.
