Word has been received from Wellington headquarters that an emergency rescue kit scheme (similar to one adopted in England by the Merchant Navy Comforts Service) Is being adopted for all New Zealand war vessels The Navy League has been asked to undertake this work on behalf of the National Patriotic Fund Board ginning, the Otago branch will have 55 kits to assemble and pack. The variou articles of clothing, etc., will be provided, but 55 pairs of socks and 55 scarves must b Th£re e is a fair quantity of scarves in hand, but socks are getting low, as the demand for them has been heavy.
