AMERICAN WAR PLANES

NEW PRODUCTION RECORD (Rec. 7 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 7. The United States, according to the War Production Board, produced 7383 military planes in July—a new record. The output of heavy bombers was well above the total for June. The head of the board, Mr Donald Nelson, and Mr Charles Wilson, the vice-chairman, in a joint statement, say, however, that the plane production is still behind schedule.
