Mr T. Somerville left for Wellington on Saturday.
Colonel J. G. Jeffery was a passenger for Wellington on Saturday morning. Mr J. Elvidge travelled north on Saturday morning on his way to Wellington. Mr H. L Doiamore was a passenger by the through express on Saturday on his way to Wellington,
Mr S. D. Smith left on Saturday morning for Wellington to attend the annual meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association. Mr W. R. Sinclair will leave for the same purpose this morning. At the annual meeting of delegates to the Dunedin Bowling Centre on Saturday night the president (Mr S. A. Wood) referred to the death of Mr F. L, Butel, the newly-elected president of the Roslyn Club, and members stood in silence in his memory.
Dr J. F. Dawson, who recently arrived from England to enter the service of the Health Department, has been appointed medical officer of health at New Plymouth, in succession to Dr J. H. Blakeiock, who is to be transferred to another district. Passengers who left for the north by the airliner on Saturday were: Mr and Mrs C. McLean, Mr T. Cuthbert, and Mr T. A. Reynolds for Christchurch, Mrs A. K. Holmes, Mr G. Stratmore, and Mr A. Holmes for Wellington, Mr S. R. Lowden, Mr N. W. Gale, and Petty-offlcer K. H. Lawry for Auckland.
