■■P (Special) CHRISTCHURCH.- Aug. 6. It was understood that R. Beale would ride Valens in the Grand National Steeplechase. but a change was announced this morning. Beale will be on Anglo-French, T J. Boyle on Noko. and R. E. Gibson on Valens. So far there are no definite arrangements for. the riding of Chat : or ' A lt deemed unlikely yesterday that Iceland Spar would be started in tee Winter Cup, as one of his legs had filled.
