DEPARTMENT’S SHAREHOLDINGS (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 6. “The largest shareholder in Combined Distributors, Ltd., is the Internal Marketing Department, which has 135 shares," said the Minister of Marketing, Mr J. G. Barclay, during consideration of the Internal Marketing Account in the House of Representatives to-day. The department, he added, had taken shares according to the size of its business. “ It is not fair that there should be a whispering campaign that I am the largest shareholder in Combined Distributors," said the Minister.
Opposition members: No, no. ' The Minister: It is even going around my own electorate. It is bad election tactics, and it will not help the election campaign if that sort of tiling goes on.
