Sylvia .Mincs.-While driving the crosscut from the No. 6 level of the Sylvia claim at Thames a small leader was intersected. It disclosed quartz heavily impregnated with zinc blend and galena, with strong colours and dabs of 6°id Assays taken of the quartz .returned 18.30 zof gold and 5.50 z of silver to the ton. Another inyportant development occurred in the same crosscut when a quantity of molybdenite was discovered in the country rock close to the leader. It is the intention of the directors to continue the crosscut for a further 40ft, when it is anticipated that the main lode will be cut.
