Private Edward James Dickson, who was recently awarded the Military Medal, will perhaps be • better remembered as "Jim Gardner,” fostsr son of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Gardner, of 9 Main avenue, St, Kilda. He was educated at the St Clair School. On the death of his foster parents, he returned to his parents, , h 0 were then living in Timaru. His mother Mrs S. E. Dickson, died a few year* ago. and his father is now living in Dunedin. •
