AMERICAN AIR ACTIVITY , RUGBY, July 12.
A successful attack on four Japanese merchant ships is announced by a United States navy communique, which states: In the North Pacific on Saturday American bombers attacked four Japanese cargo vessels 280 miles southwest of Attu. One vessel was sunk, one was left sinking, and the others were damaged. On Sunday morning United States light surface units bombarded positions on Kiska and Little Kiska.
