A UNIVERSAL ORDER

CHRISTIAN LEADERS’ VIEWS (Rec. 0.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 12. An international conference of Christian leaders at Princeton recommended that the temporary collaboration among the United Nations should as soon as possible give way to a universal order and not be consolidated into a closer military alliance with the object of establishing a preponderance or concert of power The recommendation was part of a resolution on post-war problems and was adopted after four days of discussions. Other requirements named for progress towards the order included:— First, that national isolationism and monopoly of political power by a few nations and the balance of power, which has hitherto failed to maintain peace, be repudiated as policies which contravene the purpose of establishing a world order; and,, secondly, that armaments be drastically reduced as a step towards the goals envisaged in the Atlantic Charter.
