COMPETITIONS CONTINUED Thp men’s and women’s hockey competitions were continued on Saturday under Ideal conditions. The men’s matches 'resulted as follows:—Senior Grade: University A 6, Albany 1; University B 7, Training College 4; Air Force .9, University C nil. Junior Grade: Technical Old Boys 3,- Wesley 1; High School 3. Air Cadets nil; Air Force B 4, University D 2; University E 1, Training College nil. ' In the women’s senior competition an even and exciting match was seen between College II (3) and Otago (2). L. Gibbon and B. Winmill were the outstanding players for College, while E. Puddy played a good game for Otago, and was responsible for the two goals. Scores for College II were B Winwill (2) and D. Harley (1). Both forwa-d lines played particularly well In the match between King’s and College I, and it was a fast and even game throughout. The final score was 5 goals to 3 in favour of King’s, for which the scorers were H. Harley (2), M. Eaton (2), and M. Fisher (1). J. Fraser scored two goals for College, and a penally goal was also scored. W. Middleton and A. Thomson were prominent players for College. The half-time score in the match between University and Bounty was 1 ail, but Bounty played a superior game in the second spell and won by 4 goals to 1. Scorers were J. Tait (3) and J. Burton (11 for Bounty and P. Stockdill for University. Momona (3) defeated Dunedin (1), the goals for the winning team being scored by F. Robinson, J. McLaren and C. Middleton. M. Marshal netted for Dunedin. Momona played the last 10 minutes of the game with only nine players, as a result of two being injured.
