THE WEATHER
FAIR AND COOL Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate and variable winds; weather fair and cool. Further Outlook.—Mainly fair. Weather in Dunedin.—Sunny conditions prevailed in Dunedin on Saturday, and there was a cool south-west breeze. The barometer was steady. Yesterday was also fine and sunny, but temperatures were cool, following one of the most severe frosts of the winter. There was a light south-westerly breeze during the day, but it died down in the evening, when:light rain fell. The barometer rose, the midnight reading being 30.17 inches (1022 millibars).
