THE HURUNUI SEAT

Mr C. G. Abbott, of Cheviot, has been nominated as the National Party • candidate to contest the Hurunui seat. Mr Abbott had three and a-half years’ service in the 1914-18 war, and is a vice-president of the Cheviot Returned Services’ Association. He is a §ast president of the Cheviot Farmers' Union and the Cheviot A. and P. Association. Mr M. J. O’Connor has. been nominated for selection aatthe Labour candidate. Mr O’Connor, who is 33 years old, is a civil servant, employed as a farm manager at the Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer. Previously he was a dairy farmer in the Hastings district.
