DAILY INTERCESSION

The dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.—Ps. lxxiv, 20.

Almighty and Eternal God we pray for the peoples who suffer cruelty, whose lands are devastated, whose kindly beasts are led to slaughter, whose old men are tortured till they cry for the grave, whose children cry for bread, whose lives are smitten by famine and disease and massacre, whose lot cries to Thee. Let not hope die in their souls. Arise and let Thine enemies be scattered. Hasten the day when happiness shall return and Thy children live in peace, for our Redeemer’s sake. Amen.
