BURIAL IN GERMANY Advice has been received from Switzerland by Mr and Mrs T. C. Somerville, of 'Ravelston street, Anderson’s Bay, that their only son, Sergeant T. C. Somerville, Avho Avas reported missing from operations over Berlin on March 30, Avas killed. He was buried at Strausberg Cemetery. After returning from bombing Berlin on March 27 he had volunteered for a further raid on March 30, and during this operation his machine Avas brought doAvn at Wilkendorf, 40 kilometres from Berlin. Sergeant Somerville left New Zealand four and a-half years ago to join the R.A.F., and was 24 years of age when he gave his life for his country. He played a part in the Battle of Britain, and shared in many attacks on Continental towns. An ex-pupil of the Otago Boys’ High School, Sergeant Somerville was a zealous member of the St. Clair Life Saving Club and a keen sportsman.
