Outside-grown have a limited demand, as they have been affected by the cold weather. Cabbages are still being sold by the sack. The fixed ceiling of Us per cwt Is *far above the price obtainable in the marts; On the other hand, silver beet, the ceiling price df which is 9s per cwt, has to be rationed at the ceiling figure. The ceiling price of carrots is 12s per cwt, and of parsnips 16s per cwt. ' Supplies of carrots have to be rationed. Parsnips are selling in the marts at rounq about ljd per lb. Growers of carrots are not prepared to take the present ceiling price, and are holding their supplies in the hope of obtaining a better market later on. The 'ceiling price of pumpkins is 2d per lb, but sales are being made in the marts at round about l£d per lb.
