PORT CHALMERS COURT

A sitting of the Port Chalmers Police Court was held yesterday before Mr H. J. Dixon, S.M. For riding a bicycle without a light, Hugh Hasson Stevenson was fined 10s and costs. In a claim by John Watson (M? S. V. Murdoch) against Robert Harvey (Mr R. H. Simpson) for breach of contract to take possession of a house, judgment was given for the plaintiff for £2 10s, with costs (15s) and solicitor’s fee (£1 6s). ■ John Watson (Mr Murdoch) proceeded against James S. Montecino on a claim for £l2 10s on a judgment summons. The defendant was ordered to pay the amount at the rate of 3s a week. Judgment by default was given In a case in which the Fishermen’s Co-opera-tive Society (Mr W. J. Meade) proceeded against John Fraser, claiming £5 8s Bd. Costs (17s) and solicitor’s fee (15s 6d) were allowed.
