Vincent County Council. —Mr A. C. Scoular was re-elected chairman at the monthly meeting of the Vincent County Council on Thursday. Flreblight.—Mr G. Stafford, of the Horticultural Department, gave a demonstration on the method of treating trees affected with flreblight at Earnscleugh on Thursday afternoon. There was a good attendance of interested fruitgrowers. Books for the Forces.—Residents of the Clyde district who have books to hand over to the armed forces are asked to take them to the Clyde Public Library. Those who may find it inconvenient to take the books to the library are asked to telephone No. 22D, Clyde, when arrangements will be made to collect them.
