CONVOY OFF DUTCH COAST ™ A • «■ ■ , RUGBY. Apl. 30. The Air Ministry reports a successful attack yesterday morning on an enemy convoy off the Dutch coast. Although there were six or seven smaller ships in the convoy, the Germans clearly attached the greatest importance to two larger merchantmen, which were protected by three minesweepers and six flak ships. Torpedocarrying Beaufighters scored direct hits on both ■ merchantmen, leaving one on fire and the other listing. Other Beaufighters sprayed the flak ships and minesweepers with cannon and ma-chine-gun fire. No torpedo aircraft was lost, and only one supporting Beaufighter is missing. German sailors threw themselve* overboard from a minelayer which was attacked by Spitfires off Ushant today A ship of about 1000 tons was left listing heavily with smoke pouring from her. Mosquitoes attacked two coal trains in Holland.
