TEA AND SUGAR

RATIONS FOR MAY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Apl. 30. It was announced to-day by the Food Rationing Controller, Mr J. E. Thomas, with tne approval of the Minister of Supply and the War Cabinet, that the following will be the tea and sugar rations for May:— Tea.—Eight ounces to each consumer against coupons 25 to 28 inclusive, each coupon having the value of two ounces. Sugar.—Three pounds to each consumer against coupons 25 to 28 inclusive, each coupon having the value of 12 ounces. Consumers must reregister with their retailer for their sugar supplies before the end of April. The allowances to manufacturers will remain the same as for April. “As there appears to be some confusion in regard to the marmalade or jam issue of 31b of sugar against coupon 49," Mr Thomas added. “ I wish to make it clear that the 31b is the total extra issue for the four months up to July 31, and may be collected only once during the period.”
