BALCLUTHA STOCK SALE

There was a good yarding of sheep at the weekly sale, comprising 300 fat sheep and lambs and 4000 store sheep. Fat lambs sold from 19s 6d to 275, best fat ewes from 22s 6d to 245, freezing ewes from 12s to 15s, and fat wethers (light) to 265.

Store Sheep.—Ewe lambs realised 25s 6d to 27s 4d for best, medium 18s 6d to 225, culls 15s to 17s, wether lambs 14s to 19s, cull wether lambs 9s, sound-mouth ewes 20s to 245, full and failing-mouth ewes 14s, and two-tooth ewes to 37s 6d. Fat Cattle.—A good yarding. Bullocks made up to £l6, fat heifers £lO 5s to £l2, and fat cows £7 to £8 10s.

Stqge Cattle.—Some particularly good store cattle were offered. Pigs.—Forty were penned, and suckers sold at 14s to 25s 6d.
