TWO PRISONERS CAPTURED SECOND ESCAPE THIS YEAR (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Apl. 29. Two prisoners escaped from. the Auckland gaol on Wednesday afternoon, but were quickly captured after getting only a short distance. They were Stanley Thomas Port, who is serving three years’ reformative detention for shopbreaking and burglary, as well as 12 months’ hard labour for escaping from the same gaol on January 7, and Sam Repia, who, in addition" to a sentence of three years’ imprisonment for theft, was sentenced to six months’ Imprisonment for escaping from the Auckland gaol on March 18. The alarm was sounded about 3 o’clock, when it was found that the two men were missing from the quarry. They had made their way down a branch railway line, but were held by som6 civilians, and eventually returned to the prison.
