ARCHBISHOP WAND NOMINATED (Rec. 10.45 p.m.) RUGBY, ApJ. 28.

It is announced from No. 10 Downing Street that the King has been pleased to nominate the Most Rev. J. W. C. Wand, D.D., Archbishop of Brisbane and Metropolitan of Queensland, for election by the Dean and Chapter as Bishop of Bath.

Dr Wand has been Archbishop of Brisbane and Metropolitan of Queensland since 1934. He has been senior Anglican chaplain of the First Military District of Australia since 1935. He is a distinguished scholar, and has written a number of books dealing with the history of the Church.
