WATER SOLD AS WHISKY
OFFENDER SENT TO PRISON (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Apl. 28. A sentence of two months’ imprisonment with hard labour was imposed by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., on a waterside worker, Richard Jones, aged 63, for selling a bottle of what the police stated was pure unadulterated water to a marine for 10 dollars and 30s, the equivalent of £4 10s lOd. It was labelled whisky.
