RECORDS SHATTERED (N.Z.E.F. Official War Correspondent) CAIRO, Apl. 18. Four N.Z.E.F. records were shattered at' the Armoured Forces Brigade’s athletic meeting. McHugh bettered Masters’s 200 Metres in 24 4-ssec by two-fifths of a second. Purcell’s 56 l-ssec for the 400 Metres was one-fifth of a second faster than Evans’s 1942 time. Johnson won the 800 Metres in 2min 8 2-ssec—one second faster than Pat Boot’s Middle East record. Boot won the 1500 Metres in 4min 27 l-ssec, bettering the record by three-fifths of a second. The 20th Regiment won the unit competition.
