HUNGARIAN REGENT
DISCUSSIONS IN BERLIN FULL SUPPORT FOR AXIS LONDON, Apl. 18. A communique from Hitler’s headquarters states that the Regent of Hungary, Admiral Horthy, arrived for a two-day visit on April 16. The Fuhrer discussed with him the general political situation and the fight against the common enemy, Herr von Ribbentrop and the German and Hungarian Ambassadors participated. These political discussions, as also the military discussions between General Keitel and the Hungarian chief of staff, Colonel-general Szombataely, were characterised by the spirit of traditional German-Hungarian friendship and comradeship in arms. The Fuhrer and Admiral Horthy expressed their resolve to carry on the light against Bolshevism and its AngloAmerican allies until victory was achieved. “ The Hungarians, who have already experienced the terrors, of Bolshevism, will fight shoulder to shoulder with the Tripartite Powers until the threat is completely eliminated,” the communique adds. “ They will .mobilise all their forces to help in the liberation of Europe and to safeguard the life of the Hungarian nation.”
