PUBLIC HOSPITAL

DIRECTOR’S COMMENDATION The chairman (Mr James Rodman) reported to the Waitaki Hospital Board yesterday on the visit paid by the Direc-tor-general of Health, Dr M. H. Watt, to Oamaru, on March 12. Mr Rodman said Dr Watt had inspected the hospital and was very well satisfied with the care of patients and with the buildings. He had reported that there was a marked improvement in the maintenance of the buildings, and complimented the members of the board. He had expressed the opinion that once the new buildings were completed and ready for occupation, Oamaru would have a hospital that would serve the needs of the district, and one of which the members of the board would have every reason to be proud.
